This scholar's object is distinguished by its unusual elongated, multi-lobed (quatrefoil-like) form and exquisite famille rose (fencai) enamel decoration.
The exterior of the bowl is encircled by a band of stylized green waves, providing a vibrant contrast to the white porcelain. The interior rim features a decorative border, leading down to a detailed pictorial scene. The central well depicts numerous figures, likely scholars or immortals, gathered in a garden setting with rocks, trees, and stylized clouds. The figures are rendered with expressive detail in a rich palette of pinks, greens, yellows, and blues.
