This hand-blown studio art glass vessel was designed and created by American artisan Robert Eickholt in 2006. The interior of the vessel features a pale golden-yellow underlayment that provides a high-contrast foundation beneath the crimson body, causing the translucent red layers to shift in depth when viewed under direct light. The main exterior features a vibrant crimson body layered with heavy metallic "oil spot" iridescence, drawing stylistic inspiration from mid-century studio movements and space-age aesthetics. It is fully authenticated with a diamond-point etched signature ("Eickholt 2006") on the polished pontil base. The rim exhibits an internal factory shear mark (or cord) completely sealed within the glass structure, which is a common artifact of the hand-blown manufacturing process that does not affect structural integrity or resonance. Eickholt operated his renowned studio in Columbus, Ohio, from 1978 until his retirement in 2013, gaining recognition for his master-level chemical suspensions of precious metal oxides. Display ready piece with no cracks or chips - minor surface wear commensurate with age - please see photos and video.
