This sculptural vessel was made in Malaga, Spain and showcases Alfajar’s signature mixed sgraffito and wax‑resist surface treatment in iron, manganese and cobalt oxides with ash glazes.

The tall rectangular form has a slightly canted neck and a Picasso‑inspired modern face with expressive eyes, rouged cheeks and flowing black hair, accented by geometric fish and tree motifs. The palette of cream, black, rust, blue and moss green makes it an easy fit with mid‑century modern, boho, eclectic and contemporary interiors.

Signed “Alfajar” to the side, this studio pottery piece is fully hand made and hand decorated in stoneware, fired to a durable finish. Beautiful displayed as a single statement vase, grouped with other European art pottery, or styled on a credenza, bookshelf or entry console. See less
