A handcrafted Italian ceramic vase by Onofrio Acone, a ceramicist from Campagna, Italy, with a rounded, hand-wrought form, warm terracotta interior, and a glossy turquoise glaze that moves down the surface in loose vertical drips of blue, aqua, white, and exposed clay. Made from red ceramic and decorated with natural pigments and oxides, the piece is shaped using the traditional colombino technique, a slow hand-building method that gives the vase its tactile, slightly irregular presence.
Found at a show in Paris, this piece has the feeling of water in motion: not polished or overly refined, but alive. The glaze is irregular, layered, and highly tactile, with enough imperfection to remind you that it was made by hand. Slight variations in form, color, and finish are part of the handcrafting process and make each piece unique.
