The height adjustment is operated by a sliding collar on the column, secured with a knurled screw fitting.

Two cylindrical shades are mounted on independent swivel joints, each fitted via a pivoting chrome sleeve that allows the heads to angle and rotate separately for directional lighting. Each shade retains its original lamp holder. The cord is a coiled black flex running from the switch housing on the column up to the lamp heads, with a rocker switch set into the column itself.
