Few lighting manufacturers can claim a legacy as rich as J.T. Kalmár of Vienna — a house that dressed the walls of palaces, museums and grand hotels across Europe for over a century. This pair of Model 8032 wall sconces is a fine example of why collectors keep coming back to the name.
The form is immediately arresting: a bold, asymmetric triangle that appears almost folded from a single sheet — matte white lacquer on top, warm polished brass below. It is the kind of design that looks equally at home in a pared-back modernist interior and a maximalist, layered space. Graphic yet elegant. Confident without being loud.
