Art Deco Glazed Ceramic Vase – Bonfils Pottery, Ferney-Voltaire
Charming glazed ceramic vase made by the Bonfils Pottery in Ferney-Voltaire, featuring a stylized Art Deco-inspired design with geometric and vegetal motifs.
The ovoid body is enlivened by a polychrome composition in emerald green, ochre yellow, blue-green, brown, and deep black, applied in broad, flat areas highlighted with a glossy glaze. The cylindrical neck, entirely covered in an intense green, harmoniously balances the whole. The colorful palette and the freedom of the decoration evoke French decorative arts of the interwar period.
This piece is a fine example of the artistic production of the Bonfils factory, renowned for its decorative ceramics with luminous glazes and modernist motifs.
Good overall condition. There are a few very slight chips in the glaze on the upper rim, which are minor and barely visible when displayed (see photographs).
A decorative ceramic piece full of character, ideal for an Art Deco or modern interior, or to complement a collection of 20th-century French ceramics.
