The plate was published in 1924 as part of Alexandre M. Raymond's monumental folio L'Art Islamique en Orient, an ambitious survey documenting some of the finest examples of Islamic decorative arts and architecture across the former Ottoman world. The composition illustrates an architectural niche dating from around 1420, rendered with remarkable precision and elegance. The design combines geometric stonework, arabesque ornament, carved vegetal motifs, and a tiered muqarnas-inspired canopy. Raymond carefully recorded these architectural details on-site, creating an important visual record of Ottoman decorative craftsmanship during a period when many historic monuments were undergoing restoration and change. Printed in delicate tones of pale green-grey and soft ivory, the image possesses a refined and understated aesthetic that appeals equally to collectors of Islamic art, architectural drawings, and decorative design. The subtle color palette highlights the intricate ornament while maintaining the scholarly precision of an architectural survey. The print bridges the worlds of fine art and architectural documentation, making it particularly attractive for interior designers, architects, and collectors seeking authentic Ottoman-inspired decorative works. The Yeşil Cami remains one of Bursa's most celebrated monuments and is still standing today, recognized as one of the greatest achievements of early Ottoman architecture. This print captures a decorative element from the mosque with exceptional clarity, preserving details that continue to inspire architects and designers more than six centuries after the structure was built. A striking decorative and architectural print suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors. Framed examples are shown for inspiration only; the print is sold unframed. Condition: Good antique condition with age-related toning, occasional light foxing, and minor wear to the margins consistent with age. Colors remain fresh and attractive. Please study images carefully. Framing tips: This print works particularly well in a dark walnut, ebonized, or lightly gilded frame with an ivory museum mat. The subtle green-grey tones complement Ottoman, Mediterranean, Islamic-inspired, and contemporary interiors alike. Technique: Chromolithograph Maker: Alexandre M. Raymond, Constantinople (Istanbul), published 1924 by Librairie Raymond, Pera-Constantinople. See less
