For sale is a gorgeous, mid-century hand-pulled woodblock print of Utagawa (Ando) Hiroshige’s masterpiece, Mishima: Morning Mist (#12 from the iconic Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō series).
This piece was purchased in Japan in the 1970s and remains completely intact in its original presentation. It is housed in a stunning, traditional Japanese export frame featuring a wooden-slat tension backing and hand-tied twine.
• Authenticity: Includes the pristine, original bilingual (English/Japanese) gallery description label tucked under the backing twine.
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The colors are incredibly vibrant, showing masterful bokashi (gradated ink shading) in the morning fog and background scenery. The print is beautifully framed behind a dark navy mat with classic corner cuts.
