A sky blue silk ikat cover with a visible abraj running across the field — a natural tonal shift in the ground color that occurs when dyed yarn from two different batches meets on the loom. Far from a defect, abraj is a marker of authenticity in hand-dyed ikat weaving and is sought after by collectors of Central Asian textiles. The central composition shows two inward-curving white forms meeting at a pointed drop shape, with fine vertical streaks descending across the lower half. Works well in Boho Chic, Moroccan, and Turkish interiors.
Size: 16 x 16 inches / 40 x 40 cm. Cover only, insert not included.
Handwoven from silk threads bound and dyed before weaving begins, so all pattern forms emerge from yarn alignment during the weaving process itself. Not printed; the pattern is woven directly into the fabric structure. The abraj tonal variation visible across the face is inherent to hand-dyeing in separate batches and cannot be replicated by machine.
