Beautiful sconce from Emmanuelle Simon crafted using Raku, an ancient Japanese ceramic technique. The thermal shock creates cracks in the glaze and reveals subtle black lines, forming random patterns like a landscape seen from above. This technique makes each piece unique, showcasing the power and magic of handcrafted materials. It is the regular sconce version I originally ordered directly from Emmanuelle Simon in Paris in 2020.
