A beautifully restored German Nachtkommode (bedside cabinet), dating to approximately 1940–1950.
This uncommon piece retains its original German factory inspection label on the back, identifying it as “Nachtkommode No. 1608.” The label includes inspection fields (Abnahme and Kontrolleur), providing a rare glimpse into its original production process. The cabinet also retains its original HACO door catch, another authentic period detail.
Expertly crafted with a dovetailed solid wood drawer, hardwood secondary woods, and richly figured oak veneer, this cabinet reflects the quality of mid-century German furniture. Rounded waterfall corners, sculptural plinth feet, and clean architectural lines place it at the transition between late Art Deco and early Mid-Century European design.
The cabinet has been thoughtfully restored to enhance the natural beauty of the wood while preserving its historic character. New brushed brass pulls have been installed to complement the design, while the original hardware is included with the sale.
