History
During the 1940s through the 1960s, state dairy associations across the country commissioned colorful advertising signs encouraging families to drink more milk. Connecticut's "Milk for Health" campaign became one of the state's most recognizable agricultural promotions, supplying signs to dairy farms, milk houses, country stores, schools, and agricultural fairs. These signs were designed to be highly visible, using bold typography and cheerful graphics that remain instantly recognizable today.
Original Connecticut dairy advertising pieces have become increasingly difficult to find, particularly examples with strong color, large format, and documented farm provenance.
