Original drawing by the renowned American artist Jon deMartin, one of the leading figurative artists working today. It is of a male torso, back view, with strong delineation of the muscular form of the reclining figure.
As a master of Classical drawing, deMartin's linework is intriguingly varied to render the contours of the body with precision and tenderness.
His work is strongly influenced by his training in New York City at the venerable academies of the Art Students League and the Central Academy of Art. He has exhibited at the NYC Gallery of Hirschl & Adler, the John Pence gallery, the Arnot Museum, the Butler Institute of American Art, the Florence Griswald Museum, and the Beijing World Art Museum.
