"Early American" is a style of furniture. A category that is reminiscent of Thos Mosher offerings being designed and listed in their catalogs for the first 20 years of business.
This is a solid cherry trestle table of inspired Shaker design.
This particular "kitchen table" was designed and commissioned by my father and was made in 1992 by Robert O. Newton of Yarmouth, Maine. By the way "Bob" was one of Thos Mosher's early employees.
It is in excellent condition with a natural oiled finish that can easily be amended over time as necessary.
It was constructed with two very robust mortise and tenon joints that have a draw bolt feature allowing the top to be separated from the lower trestle undercarriage section. This makes it more easily moved through narrow doors or up a flight of stairs.
