A distinguished antique Edwardian sterling silver sauce boat, hallmarked at the Glasgow Assay Office and bearing British registered design number Rd 356239, dating this piece precisely to 1900. The form is classic late Victorian/Edwardian — a generously proportioned oval body raised on four ornate ball-and-claw feet with acanthus leaf knees, a gracefully scrolled handle, and a wide scalloped pouring rim. The interior retains its original gilt wash, a mark of quality on pieces of this period. Maker's stamps clearly visible on the base alongside the Glasgow town mark. Honest patina with use. No dents or damage.
A significant piece of Scottish silver, suitable equally for a working table or a serious collection of British antique silver.
