Blown glass incorporating colored ribbons drawn while hot using the Marmoriertes Glas technique—a process that involves incorporating colored glass threads into the bowl, deformed and elongated during blowing to form continuous undulating striations. The result is a marbled decoration, predominantly pink in the upper part, where concentric almond-shaped motifs, blending burgundy, violet, green, and white, radiate from the flattened bulbous base, covered with a pearly iridescence likely achieved through treatment with metallic vapors.
The vase features a finely chased, dark-core, gilt metal mount: a foliate rim forming a crown at the top, and three openwork appliqués composed of a central stem adorned with flowers, lateral scrolls, and descending garlands of interconnected blossoms. The naturalistic vocabulary of this design is characteristic of decorative metalwork from the period 1895–1910.
