It is the most pared-back piece in the collection: a surface for jewellery or small objects where the material itself is the primary event. Prominent fissures are filled with wood taken from the same beam — repair as an extension of the object's material logic.

The Raw Collection draws on what would otherwise be lost — barn beams, stone offcuts, marble remnants. The Yakisugi technique prepares the wood surface; natural oils and beeswax seal it. Nothing synthetic enters. Hand-carving follows the existing material logic throughout.

Every stage of the making remains on the surface: charred grain, filled cracks, the settled warmth of beeswax over old wood. These are not imperfections to be corrected — they are the substance of the object. No two trays share the same form or surface character.
