Its horizontal form lays the material assembly out plainly: carved wood surface, set stone, marble socket — each element in its place within an arrangement that follows its own internal logic. The title accounts for both the construction and the way the finished object is experienced.

The Raw Collection works with material otherwise unrecovered — barn beam wood, stone offcuts, marble fragments. Yakisugi treatment and natural oil and beeswax finishing prepare the surfaces; hand-carving follows with care for what each material already contains. No synthetics.

The finished piece holds a layered record: charred wood, inset stone, black marble reading against pale grain. Lit from below, the horizontal form becomes animated — warm light meeting carved and stone surfaces at angles that shift with the viewer's position.

For a desk, side table, or console where horizontal form can be seen from above and in profile. Cork-lined base. Open edition; stone and wood vary per piece. See less
