Its form is columnar — a charred-wood shaft, a limestone element, warm light from within — reading less as a manufactured object than as something shaped by duration, by the slow work of erosion. The carved repurposed-beam shade carries this upward, the completed form evoking structures long past their original purpose.

The collection's process starts with material already changed by time — reclaimed timber, leftover limestone, cork. The Yakisugi technique works the wood surface further; natural oils and beeswax follow. Carving respects and follows the grain, working with the material's existing marks rather than removing them.

The result is a surface of accumulated depth: scorched, carved, worn — a texture that feels both ancient and considered. Stone and wood at the point of contact do not compete; they settle into one another. Each piece disperses light in its own way.
