Reclaimed … Read more The Pink Dream Candle Holder is a hand-carved wood and marble object from the Melting Collection by Gabor Gobi. Reclaimed pine, charred dark by the Yakisugi process, is paired with fragments of coral pink marble — the stone's warmth held against the depth of the wood, the candle positioned above a cork base that anchors the composition.

Each piece starts with salvaged material — beam wood, marble offcuts, objects already shaped by use. The wood undergoes Yakisugi, the traditional Japanese charring technique, before receiving natural oils and a beeswax finish. Cork lines the base throughout. Nothing synthetic is introduced.

The finished surface is one of unresolved contrast: pale rose marble against near-black timber, the two materials appearing pressed into one another by slow accumulated force. The sealed surface shifts in quality as the light around it changes.

Well suited to intimate settings — a shelf, a bedside surface, a table where close scale is the point. One of a kind; each piece carries its own marble tone. See less
