The Virgin, with her hair gathered back, wears a dress with soft drapery in shades of purple and ultramarine and a daring neckline; she holds the Child on her lap within an undefined setting, with a window opening onto a hilly landscape featuring architecture in the background. This antique 17th-century Italian religious painting has been cleaned and is in good condition, with some older restorations. It is a work from the Lombard school and comes from a private collection; it features a beautiful frame gilded with fine gold dating from the 1800s. See less
