Utilizing his signature heavy impasto technique, Afebuame applies rich, sculptural layers of oil paint with a palette knife to build a surface that is as much a physical landscape as it is a visual one.

The work captures a moment of profound self-assurance. Bathed in a vibrant, golden-hour palette, the subject reclines in a posture of composed introspection, her form emerging through rhythmic strokes of ochre, sienna, and amber. By focusing on the interplay between the physical weight of the medium and the ethereal quality of the light, Afebuame elevates the domestic scene into a broader meditation on the human spirit and the peace found within one's own identity. This piece stands as a testament to the artist's ability to bridge figurative realism with an expressive, tactile impressionism that invites the viewer to feel the pulse of the narrative through the texture of the canvas.
