A stoneware trinket dish by roger guérin, dating from the first half of the 20th century. It features a brown base with shades of cobalt blue, brown, burgundy, and cream, showcasing a salt-fired enamel effect typical of the ceramic work of the belgian artist roger guérin.
the so-called "flamed" effects result from high-temperature firing in contact with salt and fire, creating unique and unpredictable surface variations.
it is numbered and signed "guérin" on the base.
the tripod trinket dish has an organic and fluid form. It can also be used as a bowl or ashtray.
the piece highlights an aesthetic centered on the transformation of matter through fire. It boasts a beautiful sheen and lovely colors.
