This petite glazed jar from China's Shanxi province exemplifies the timeless appeal of handcrafted pottery. Once used in an apothecary to hold ground herbs and oils for traditional medicines, the little jar charms with precious scale and a light brown drip glaze that sheets across the ridged sides with beautiful color variegation and subtle firing imperfections.
