Decorated … Read more An imposing and striking 20th-century wall display plate in solid, heavy glazed terracotta (majolica), attributed to Italian ceramic craftsmanship. Decorated entirely by hand with a rich polychrome palette of yellow, green, and blue, it depicts the profile of a Renaissance leader in helmet and armor, enclosed within a laurel wreath, surrounded by a geometrically patterned brim with a scaled cross. The rough, patinated terracotta back features a sturdy integrated metal hook for wall mounting. Preserved in excellent overall condition, with a solid, intact structure and well-preserved glaze.
