Sunlight streams through clouds to spotlight a place carved from desert and rock by human ingenuity, reflecting the optimism and progress of 1950s America. It is inscribed on the back ‘Harold & Gladys Stover, September 15, 1951’. The work may have been a commission. This is one of the very best of Roy Robb’s works.
Roy M. Robb, (1888 - 1961) lived and worked in Laguna Beach, California and was an important figure in the Laguna Beach Art Community.
