An exceptional collector's item of european post-war modernism. This brutalist bronze corpus (model c 13) captivates with its highly rare, almost square proportions and a substantial material presence. Crafted using the elaborate solid casting process, the sculpture weighs a remarkable 1,490 grams despite its compact height of 25 cm.
the work radically breaks with traditional viewing habits. Its horizontal form (26.5 cm wide) and depth of 6 cm lend the corpus a sculptural power characteristic of the "clerical brutalism" of the 1960s. The hand-engraved signature and numbering "c 13 / 23 hp" on the back attests to the exclusivity of this strictly limited edition of only 23 pieces worldwide (this is number 13). The monogram is attributed to the sculptor hans prasch (1925–1999).
the work represents a radical departure from traditional viewing habits. Condition & aesthetics:
excellent vintage condition. The piece exhibits a deep, naturally developed patina with striking mineral oxidation marks. The surface is raw and powerfully chased, underscoring the archaic aura of the bronze. A tactilely and visually impressive statement piece for curated high-end interiors.
