Vintage resin coated reproduction oil painting after French artist Jean-Léon Gérôme titled After the Bath (also known as The Harem Bath).
The artwork is a prominent example of Orientalism, a genre popular in the 19th century that depicted Western fantasies of Eastern cultures. It depicts the private interior of a harem, a space reserved for women, featuring bathing scenes with nude figures smoking hookah.
Gérôme painted these scenes in his Paris studio, relying on sketches and photographs from his travels to North Africa and the Ottoman Empire rather than direct observation.
