Low Japanese kimono tansu with a calm, strong presence and a beautiful balance between functionality and refinement.
Dimensions: height 49 cm, width 93.5 cm, depth 45 cm.
The cabinet is fitted with two wide, spacious drawers and made of warm-toned wood with a lively natural grain. The dark iron fittings, corner reinforcements, and clean rectangular handles create a beautiful graphic contrast against the warm wood surface.
The front has a clear sense of simplicity: wide, low, and clean-lined, yet at the same time rich in detail thanks to the beautiful wood grain and restrained hardware.
Its proportions give the piece a calm presence, allowing it to work beautifully today in a living room, hallway, or bedroom. It is also particularly striking as a low display cabinet beneath artwork, with ceramics, plants, or other objects placed on top.
The two deep drawers provide ample practical storage for textiles, documents, or other everyday items you would like to keep stylishly out of sight. It is precisely this combination of usefulness and understated character that makes this kimono tansu so strong in a contemporary interior.
A timeless piece of furniture that works effortlessly in both minimalist and more layered interiors.
The cabinet dates from the 1920s and remains in beautiful condition, with normal signs of age and light wear consistent with its age.
An authentic and highly usable piece with a calm, refined presence.
