This unique antique inkwell is a beautiful piece of French Faience pottery, made by the renowned Sceaux pottery workshop. The inkwell is designed to resemble a cauldron, complete with a detailed lid and even "logs" beneath the pot. The piece is decorated in a charming green and red color scheme over white, showcasing the artistry and craftsmanship of the period.
The back of the piece features two cradles for holding pens, adding both functionality and visual appeal. The inkwell still retains its original ink pot inside, an exceptional find considering its age.
The piece is marked with "SX" on the bottom, indicating it was made by the Sceaux pottery.
