Bold and sophisticated pair of vintage gilt low chests or nightstands featuring a hand-applied gold finish with graphic black grid detailing. The clean, architectural casework is accented by minimalist black rod pulls with brass mounts, all set on substantial black plinth bases that give the pieces a grounded, sculptural presence.
The design reflects strong Hollywood Regency and postmodern influences, with proportions and surface treatment styled after the work of Karl Springer and similar late 20th-century American luxury designers.
