Its color palette features brown, aqua-blue, red and beige, with the latter two being predominant. The main border is broad, with a rich pattern consisting of medallions and vine motifs. There are additional inner and outer borders, on red and aqua-blue fields, each with their own intricate patterns, adding a degree of complexity to this carpets design. The main field itself features large palmettes and smaller acanthus leaf motifs. The size of the palmettes is typical of Sultanabad rugs, which use a larger and suppler foundational weave. See less
