A beautifully executed Art Nouveau cameo glass vase signed by the celebrated French master Émile Gallé (1846–1904). This elegant cabinet-sized piece features a luminous amber-yellow ground expertly acid-etched and carved with richly detailed burgundy magnolia blossoms and foliage. The dramatic contrast between the warm golden body and the deep wine-colored overlay exemplifies the sophisticated multi-layer glass techniques that made Gallé one of the most influential glassmakers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The vase's gently flared bowl form enhances the flowing organic design, while the delicately frosted surface creates a soft, ethereal glow when illuminated. Magnolia motifs were a favored Art Nouveau subject, symbolizing beauty and renewal, and are rendered here with exceptional depth and artistry.
A striking decorative accent for a curated collection of French Art Nouveau glass, this piece displays beautifully on a shelf, vitrine, or tabletop and pairs wonderfully with works by Daum Nancy and other period French glassmakers.
