This striking ceramic bowl, crafted in the 1970s by egersund terracotta & keramikk (etk), is a quintessential example of scandinavian retro design. Etk, a renowned norwegian ceramics company, continued the rich pottery tradition of the town of egersund, following in the footsteps of the famous egersund fayancefabrik, which was founded in 1847 and closed in 1979.
the bowl is made from terracotta and features the characteristic hand-finished quality for which etk became known. Etk’s pieces, including bowls, candleholders, and vases, are prized for their distinctive blend of retro and art deco styles from the 1960s and 1970s.
