James Heyward White owned a business in the 1960s known as Heyward House, which made high-quality decorative lamps and sold them worldwide. That company is no longer in business, but the quality of its lamps is still well-known and well-respected. The current Heyward House, a manufacturer of children's wear, is owned by the granddaughter of James Heyward White and features as its logo a lamp honoring her grandfather's memory.

Offered here for your consideration and purchase is a good example of the quality of vintage Heyward House lamps. This beautiful porcelain Chinoiserie lamp features a European a woodsy hunting scene with hunters and their dogs and background depictions of European buildings. There is classic Chinoiserie embellishment at the top of the urn-style lamp body. Features that attest to the high quality of the lamp include the obvious careful workmanship and the vey nice condition of the lamp after all the decades of use. The high-quality heavy brass light socket is marked Heyward House, the nice wood of the well-made wooden base features carved accents, and the brass finial is designed to rotate for proper orientation without loosening the screw fitting to the harp.

From the bottom of the base to the tip of the finial, the height is 27 inches. The base is 5 inches by 5 inches. The widest part of the body is approximately 6 inches in diameter.
