This vintage 7x12 Persian Kilim is a unique tribal rug for its period that hails from the Northwestern in Azerbaijan. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960.
Further on the Design:
The field hosts a series of horizontal stripes alternating in red, soft pink, chocolate brown and mango orange atop charcoal undertones. Connoisseurs will note the rarity of such playful, bright hues in this provenance, and let alone in such good condition today. Keen eyes will further admire the delicious, yet simple and comfortable sense of movement such stripes in these hues creates. This is a graphic, yet livable piece with vast applications and rare features alike.
