Boehm is known for his exquisite depiction of a variety of birds and these birds are no exception. They were discontinued in 1979. These water fowl are two separate sculptures with the male being black and the female is brown, both based in a different section of watery marsh. Stamped hallmarks for both male and female bird are: "Boehm, Limited Edition, Hooded Mergansers, Lophodytes Cucullatus [genus and species] No. 496, Made in USA." Artist signature PBB, 1491. On male only: No5x007." Measurements for these fabulous creations are: Height=11 inches, Width=13 inches. This marvelous pair of 2 Boehm mergansers have been well cared for, gently displayed and are in excellent vintage condition, free from chips, cracks or crazing.
