Painting # 020299 by Van Bankston is subtle sophistication. The verticals are in proportion to the overall horizontality of the painting. Or vice versa if hung vertically. The shapes and background are in shades of atmospheric grays, suggesting an unending spaciousness. Soft and blended edges mediate the relation of forms. The painting is signed on the back. Framing is not required, having clean canvas edges.
"I hope my art encourages the viewer to stop, pause, and take a breath. My art is an invitation to the pleasure of the present moment through the qualities of color, balance, line, form, and texture for a lifegiving and empowering experience."
