Hand-knotted in wool, this 8x10 rug is a new unveiling from the European rug collection by Rug & Kilim—one of its earliest works, inspired by Neoclassical antique Bessarabian Kilims and flatweaves.
On the Design:
The design features especially present tones of rIch chocolate brown underscores floral patterns in medallion sprays and scrolls, favoring autumnal tones and cream hues like those admirers of our craft might see in the inspiration. What makes it particularly exciting is this being from one of Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s earliest works in the collection featuring floral patterns. It’s an exemplary of countless subtleties, lush piles, regal borders and floral patterns of a particular architectural beauty, teeming with the feminine beauty and regal sensibility that embodies this transitional style— among the most sophisticated weaving styles of history.
