The vibrant red lacquer frame is lavishly decorated with hand-gilded Chinoiserie scenes — Chinese scholars, pagodas, cranes, flowering trees and exotic landscapes — all framed by an elegant scalloped silhouette crowned with a magnificent gilded scallop shell crest.
The back is professionally protected with wooden panels and clearly inscribed “London 1741”, confirming its authentic 18th-century origin.
