Handwoven … Read more This handmade 10x15 rug is an exciting, one-of-a-kind rug designed by Rug & Kilim and Betsy Wentz Interior Design. Handwoven in wool with both pile and flatweave construction together, this piece is from the works designed for BWID’s “Parlour” design from the 2024 Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse in Palm Beach.

Admirers of the craft will note a bold new approach to dimensionality in this piece, which began with its marriage of hand-knotted pile and flatweave together. Keen eyes will note that the high-and-low texture not only plays with the geometric patterns and stripes in a portion of the rug, but also enjoys a subtle gradience in both color and pile height—an outstanding feat of meticulous craft matched only by the sheer variety of movement of color in the entire piece.
