housed in a mahogany frame wooden shadow box with complex molding on the glass door. The piece has an early lime mint green paper lining and the shellwork is surrounded by early ribbon.
The shell frame surrounds the masonic lodge emblem which is done in moss, small shells & dried flowers.
The upper shell ornament is slightly out of place & misc. shells are missing throughout and there is some deterioration to ribbon which is expected for a piece of this age.
The door has a brass hook for closure.
One would assume the lodge was close to the water due to the shell work. There is some water marks on inner lime liner as well.
The glass is extremely early which is indicative of the age of this piece. See less
