This vintage 5x14 Persian kilim is from a new curation of rare felted rugs in the Rug & Kilim Collection—handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960.
On the Design:
This flatweave enjoys a wide border and more abstract geometric pattern like primitivist art. The look is like that of a framed portrait in its play of beige with more rich red, brown, and navy blues tones. Textural, regal, and impressionistic, it's among the most unique works of Persian folk art in tribal rugs of its kind.
Condition:
This mid-century felted Persian Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
